Alternate title: Animalism

• Old Major dies
• Squeler, Napolean and Snowball eloborate Old Major's theories into a complete way of thought known as animalism
• Squeler, Napolean and Snowball answer questions in regard to the rebellion and animalism
• the animals rebel succesfully against Jones
• The 7 commandments of animalism are painted on the wall
• The milk dissapears

Chapter 3 summary

Alternate title: Governing the new ways

• The pigs supervise and assume the role of leaders
• The animals work hard and complete the harvest in 2 days less time then it usually takes jones
• The flag is made and hoisted
• Sunday meeting commence
• The harness room is established as the pigs headquaters
• For simplicity Snowball reduces the seven commandments to "Four legs good, two legs bad"
• Jessie and Bluebell whelp after the harvest and the puppies are taken for private education by Napolean
• The Milk and apples are delegated to the pigs for keeping them in good health

Chapter 4 Summary

Alternate title: The battle of the cowshed

• The news of what happened at animal farm begins to spread
• Animals at other farms become more rebellious
• The tune and words of "Beasts of England" are learnt everywhere
• Jones and his men try to recapture animal farm
• Thanks to Snowball and Boxer the men are driven out of the farm
• Snowball and Boxer recieve honours "Animal hero first class"
• The dead sheep recieves "Animal hero secound class"

Chapter 5 summary

Alternate title: An exile and a new regime

• Mollie becomes more troublesome and is seen talking to and being patted by a man from Foxwood
• Mollie dissapears from the farm and is later seen by the pidgeons pulling a cart
• Snowball and Napolean debate over the need for a windmill
• Napolean urinates on Snowball's plans
• Napolean and Snowball debate over the defense of Animal farm; Napolean arguing the need for firearms and Snowball arguing that rebellions once having taken place everywhere else would abolish the need for firearms.
• Plans for the Windmill are finished and the Windmill is put to vote
• Mid speech Snowball is ran out of the farm by Napolean's dogs
• Napolean announces an end to the Sunday meetings and a begining to the commitee of pigs resided over by himself
• All objections are growled at by the pigs or bleated over by the sheep
• Napolean takes on the position of leader and Squeler is sent around to explain to the animals
• Boxer adopts the maxim "Napolean is always right"
• Napolean announces that the building of the windmill shall commence
• Squeler explains to the animals that the windmill had always been Napoleans idea
